Candle Care 101: Burn Bright, Burn Right

I want you to glow with happiness—and be safe doing it. Here’s your guide to glowing smart.
(Yes, I said glow… because candles.)

Safety First

• Never burn unattended—no one wants smoky surprises.
• Keep away from kids, pets, and flammable stuff (looking at you, laundry).
• Please, don’t get wet. Use a snuffer or blow gently. Wax splatter is not a party favor.

The Very First Burn

• Make it count: Let the wax pool melt all the way to the edge. It’s the “first impression” for your candle—don’t short-change it!
  • Otherwise... hello, tunnel effect. 😬 And then your candle thinks “This is how I burn from now on.”

Trim It Like It’s Hot

• That little wood wick? Keep it trimmed to 7mm (¼") every time. Flick off any charred bits.
  • Why? A neat flame, no soot, and no unexpected flare-ups.

Smart Burn Times

• For your 300g candles: 1–4 hours a pop. I know it's calming but extinguish before you nap, always! 
• Stop when there’s ~10mm/1cm wax left—don’t push your poor candle past its limits.

Keep It Cool (Literally)

• Avoid moving your candle mid-burn (hot wax = slippery situation).
• Burn on a flat, safe surface. Glass gets warm.
• Wind/Drafts = candle confetti (flickering, soot). Keep it cozy and sheltered.

Quick Checklist

Check each before you light:

• First burn is WAIST-deep (melts edge to edge)?
• Wick trimmed?
• Not near winds or fluff?
• Ready to extinguish it gently?
